Good news: I just found out that Oopsy Daisy is having a Founder's Day Sale, with 13% off all of their darling products! Do you recognize the images above? They are from my Happy series, wonderfully reproduced on stretched canvas, and they are beautiful in person. I feel like a proud parent.

Gem

Ack! Talk about totally last minute. In three and a half hours Gallery 825 will be opening its doors to the public for its yearly gem show, and I have two pieces showing; this is one of those nights where collectors literally buy the art off the gallery walls, it's pretty fun. If you happen to be out and about in Los Angeles tonight, stop by for great art, great music, and wine!

I am very excited to be a part of the Anima show at Fibre Arts Design Studio in Palo Alto, CA... opening reception is today from 6:00 to 8:00. I am too busy with the littlest one (and packing) to make it up north, but I will be there in spirit! Perhaps I will drink a glass of champagne at 6:00 as I am stirring Beau's macaroni and cheese...

Teeny Tiny Art Show 9

It's time for teeny tiny art!

Three Graces Gallery's 9th Teeny Tiny Art Show goes up this weekend, and I am happy to be a part of it again... this is my fourth TTAS. I hope one year to make it to Portsmouth, NH, where the town is filled with art: Nahcotta Gallery's Enormous Tiny Art Show will also be in full swing.

My recent bird studies will be for sale, framed up all pretty. You can see them in the online gallery shop now.

I hope you are all having a lovely February so far. I've just begun packing for our move on the 15th, while also trying to round out a series of collages based around this image. Putting things away in boxes on one side of the house while making a huge mess on the other side has me feeling like nothing's being accomplished at all!

Bird Studies

Do you remember my call for materials exchange last summer? This week I finally got to some of the goodies sent to me from Canadian artist/photographer Rachael Ashe. Rachael does some amazing things with altered books and sells her beautiful photography, you can see her work here. The package she sent was full of some great stuff, and I had a wonderful time getting back into art making while the baby slept.

These birdies will be heading to Three Graces Gallery in NH once I get them framed up.

Joie Magazine

The gorgeous fall issue of Joie Magazine is out, and I am proud to be a contributer. Joie is the brainchild of Indie Fixx's Jen Wallace, and this issue is full of great articles, food, fashion, foraging, and some wonderful art. And did I mention that it's free?

See if you can spot my contributions in the form of background patterns.. I had a lot of fun doing these, and they are also available in fabric form over at Spoonflower if you are so interested. (The mushroom patterns are coming soon.) 

I hope you are having a lovely week where you are. We've been hiding inside to escape the heat.. I even had a small raccoon try to come inside last night.. he had the patio door open about two inches when I caught him!

The Feminine Divine

I am very proud to be one of the artists showing at the Doug Adams Gallery in Berkeley, CA. Gendered Images: The Feminine Divine opens up this weekend, with the opening reception on Saturday, September 8th from 5-7 PM. There will be live jazz, and amazing food from local restaurant La Mediterranee. If you are in the area, won't you stop by?

I won't be able to make it (I will be a big pregnant lady on the couch in Los Angeles dreaming of art, jazz, wine and great food) but I will be there in spirit. I hear that the Pacific School of Religion is a gorgeous setting.. I hope that someone gets to go and tells me about it! The show will be up until December 16th. There are also three events in connection with the show: an interfaith faculty discussion, a women's hymn and choir celebration, and a theatrical performance.
