I am pleased as punch to be part of Fibre Arts Gallery's upcoming Hearth & Home Exhibition. The show, as you might guess, is about the concepts of home, private space, and domesticity.
I spent my childhood constantly moving, and as a result, home has always been a feeling for me rather than a place; "houses" show up in my work all the time. As a little girl I spent most of my time drawing apartment buildings full of tiny animal and insect families. (These drawings will not be in the show, although I should try to find some and post them here!)
Opening reception is this Thursday, July 12th at 6:00 PM. If you are up in the Bay Area, please come by, the show runs until August 19th.
