Ah, the feeling of "signing off". The vintage shop is now closed for the holidays, and the art shop will be closing up tomorrow night.. these past weeks have been wild and wooly. Etsy orders, shipping/delivering art, school events, play dates, and a cold that I've had for two weeks that will not leave.
I am now ready to get Christmassy. Cookies! Shopping! (In a week-long Los Angeles rain storm, no less, what is this?) Wrapping! Eggnog Lattes!
Adorable holiday sculptures!
I received the most wonderful package two weeks ago, and I am just posting about it now, silly me. The package came all the way from Luxembourg, from the very sweet blogger, Kelley, and was part of Sofia Barão's Autumn Swap: the search for comfort.
Kelley's package was incredibly thoughtful, full of many goodies and handwritten notes about where the treats were from.. the coffee, she said, was from a patisserie she often stops at on the way to the train in the morning. How charming is that??
I'm glad I took photos when I opened the package because all goodies are now gone. The lime confections were amazing, and check out the "hot chocolates on a spoon".
Little notes and postcards..
a book of poetry, and a vintage German children's book..
.. with adorable illustrations. The best part is when Beau asked me to read her the story. I couldn't help but imagine Kelley cringing at my attempt at reading, "die spülten, die wühlten, und mengten und mischten, und stopften und wischten."
Thank you so much, Kelley! You helped make these busy few weeks a little cozier and comfier with your sweet package.
And if you are so inclined, you can see what I packaged up for the lovely Karin in NYC, here.
I realize this is very last minute, but the lovely Erin of Bluebirdbaby is hosting a giveaway of two sets of my bookplates! Pop over here to leave a comment before 10AM tomorrow for a chance to win. There's also a little interview with me, and a coupon code for 10% off my art shop. Yay!
Erin's photography is astoundingly fresh, vibrant, and beautiful, and I love her blog. She has the cutest little family, and all of her posts about baking, sewing, and making jam make me want to bake, sew, and make jam... all of which I have no idea how to do.
And if you are still in need of holiday cards, check these out. Beautiful.
