It has been rainy and cozy here, and I have been working away like a busy little elf. I've created a new banner (do you like it?) and have yet to get the rest of my blog "look" updated, but that's the way things have been this week, I've been updating all sorts of things (website, shops, work) bits at a time so nothing is quite finished. I've been so involved, in fact, that every time I go outside there are a few more of these on my lawn:
And I've been playing with some new goop I got at the art supply store, it sort of looks like encaustic, all waxy and milky. Here are some works-in-progress, below:
Oh, and artist Sofia Barão is hosting her autumn swap again, here is more info. I've participated the past two years, and can't recommend it highly enough. Happy weekend!
Beau wanted to paint with me the other day. I was out of the tiny canvases we've been using lately, so I grabbed a box of shipping tags, and we went for it.
She had a blast since she was painting on a new surface, and I had a blast because I was painting with absolutely no attachment.
When was the last time you painted without any attachment?
And used "icky" colors?
And slapped on bits of things you already had on your table from other projects?
Well, for me, it had been a long time.
I love creating, but I have to admit that I always have a bit of an agenda when I do. It was such an experience to throw stuff about and not care. And I have no idea what I'm going to do with these tags, but I want to make more of them, like little studies in loosening up.
