It is dark and drizzly here today, not unlike this piece above.. this is the first in a series of collages that I am making in collaboration with two other amazing artists.. I'll tell you more about that soon, but for now, I'll say that this was inspired by the word "Dim".
These past few weeks have been very busy: finishing up a big design job, submitting my work to galleries, running the shop, and happily crossing items off a mile-long To Do List.
I also have a new studio space! I was handed down a massive architect's table by a friend of my mom's, and I absolutely love it. It has a huge flat file, and it hides a multitude of sins (and plastic toys) underneath it. I have yet to get some nice-looking bins or baskets to organize everything, but that's next. Together with my computer area, I am one happy artist.
Lastly, here are some pictures from the gem show at Gallery 825:
It was the first show that I've had my work in that I was able to attend, and it was such a trip! I was actually very nervous. My husband and I arrived to find that both of my pieces had already been sold (Yay! That explains the look on my face) so we walked around and looked at all the beautiful work. It was a very exciting and very humbling experience being in the presence of all that talent, I felt a little bit like I was living a new life.
